DAY 1 – BAGAN FAMILY TOURS FOR ESCAPE: ARRIVAL – BAGAN SIGHTSEEING TOUR (D)

Bagan - MyanmarYou will be met by our guide & driverat Bagan’s Nyaun U Airport. En route to the hotel, stop at an elevated temple for fine views of Bagan’s plains.
Bagan is an ancient city located in the Mandalay Region of Burma (Myanmar). From the 9th to 13th centuries, the city was the capital of the Kingdom of Pagan, the first kingdom to unify the regions that would later constitute modern Myanmar.During the kingdom’s height between the 11th and 13th centuries, over 10,000 Buddhist temples, pagodas and monasteries were constructed in the Bagan plains alone, of which the remains of over 2200 temples and pagodas still survive to the present day.
After some light sightseeing, check-in and relax with a swim at your hotel before setting off in the afternoon for an introduction to Bagan and its landscape on horsecart riding around the temples and watch the sunset from the veranda, it’s one of these ancient monuments.

DAY 2 – BAGAN FAMILY TOURS FOR ESCAPE: BAGAN EXPLORATION – MT POPA (B,L)

After breakfast at the hotel we go to visit Nyaung U Market for a dose of local life and culture, The next couple of hours are spent at temples that will appeal to children, starting at Shwezigon Pagoda officially also known in English as the Great Dagon Pagoda and the Golden Pagoda, is a 99 metres gilded pagoda and stupa located in Yangon, Burma. The pagoda lies to the west of Kandawgyi Lake, on Singuttara Hill, thus dominating the skyline of the city. It is the most sacred Buddhist pagoda for the Burmese with relics of the past four Buddhas enshrined within: the staff of Kakusandha, the water filter of Ko??gamana, a piece of the robe of Kassapa and eight strands of hair from Gautama, the historical Buddha. After that we continue visiting Kyan Sitthar Cave temple; only visible with flashlights. Also included shortbreak at Ananda with its mysterious smiling Buddhas and Shwegugyi known for its upper terrace views. We also make a stop at Lawkanandar animal sanctuary before heading to Mt Popa – a volcano 1518 metres above sea level, and located in central Burma (Myanmar) about 50 km southeast of Bagan (Pagan) in the Pegu Range. It can be seen from the Ayeyarwady (Irrawaddy) River as far away as 60 km in clear weather. Mount Popa is perhaps best known as a pilgrimage site, with numerous Nat temples and relic sites atop the mountain.

DAY 3 – BAGAN FAMILY TOURS FOR ESCAPE: BAGAN – MT POPA – BAGAN (B,L)

After breakfast, we join local pilgrims in a journey to Mt. Popa’s summit. Statues and resident monkeys as well as the views will surely fascinate the kids. We then drive back to Bagan and stop at a small village en-route where locals make a variety of treats from the juice of palm trees and children can help grind rice and corn. Enjoy lunch with a local family. Check into the hotel and then head out for a boat cruise on the Irrawaddy River to Sae Lan Village which lies on a floodplain of the west bank of the Ayeyarwaddy River directly across from Bagan, typical of the riverside villages along the Irrawaddy. The friendly people work as farmers and fishermen, living a simple but happy life. Afterwards,go ashore fora short walk, then head back to Bagan for sunset.

DAY 4 – BAGAN FAMILY TOURS FOR ESCAPE: BAGAN – DEPARTURE (B)

This morning transfer to the Nyaung U airport for your onward flight.
